1. Iron & Sand Cabernet Sauvignon – Paso Robles, CA

Wine Profile: Dry, full-bodied, dark fruit (blackberry, cassis), hints of mocha and minerality.
Paired With: Traditional Steak Frites
Why It Works: The structure and tannins in this Cabernet pair beautifully with classic steak—especially with herb butter or pan sauce—while the wine’s dark fruit complements the crispy salted fries.

2. Jim Barry “The Cover Drive” Cabernet Sauvignon – Clare Valley, Australia

Wine Profile: Dry, dark fruit, elegant tannins, smooth finish.
Paired With: Canadian-Style Steak-Favored Frites
(Think Montreal steak seasoning, peppercorn, garlic, and maybe a drizzle of brown gravy.)
Why It Works: Australian Cab’s clean dark berry flavors and savory undertones match the bolder, peppery Canadian-style seasoning without overpowering it.

3. Sixth Sense Syrah – Lodi, California

Wine Profile: Savory, spicy, earthy, with notes of black pepper, plum, and smoked herbs.
Paired With: Korean Gochujang Steak Frites
(Korean chili paste glaze, sesame, scallion—sweet heat + umami.)
Why It Works: Syrah’s natural pepper spice and smoky depth amplify Korean flavors. The wine’s richness holds up beautifully to sweet-heat umami glazes.

4. Oxford Landing Cabernet Sauvignon – South Australia

Wine Profile: Fruit-forward, medium-plus body, with spice and juicy berry notes.
Paired With: Chimichurri Steak Frites
(Garlic-herb chimichurri over sliced steak, crisp fries.)
Why It Works: The fresh herbs and garlic in chimichurri balance this Cab’s juicy fruit and spice, creating a bright, lively pairing that’s extremely crowd-friendly.

5. La Maldita Garnacha – Rioja, Spain

Wine Profile: Ripe red fruits, soft tannins, vibrant and youthful.
Paired With: Mediterranean Paprika Frites & Steak
(Smoked paprika seasoning, roasted red pepper aioli, oregano.)
Why It Works: Garnacha’s red cherry and raspberry notes love smoky paprika and roasted pepper flavors. The lower tannin makes it a refreshing pairing with seasoned fries.
